My Website: Inspiration and Future Plans
I kind of already stated on the welcome page why I made this website, being a mix of being fascinated by the old web, wanting a place where I could fully customize and post whatever I wanted, a place to ramble about all my interests, and wanting a
harder challenge in coding.
I haven’t yet stated my inspiration anywhere on the website yet. My inspiration is a mix of things, the inspiration of
starting the website being the old web and my best friend Jason. My inspiration for the style I chose, so i.e. my sprites being next to the text, was inspired by a few things such as digital novels. I have always been interested in digital novels like Doki Literature Club, hoping to make a digital novel one day. I also have been interested in
animation videos where they just use different sprites of different poses, i.e. Gacha Club, but also just YouTubers in general when they are talking about a topic and they switch between different character sprites depending on what they are saying.
I don’t exactly remember now why that was the random thing to pop into my head as the major inspiration. I will
be honest, it wasn’t something I was sure was gonna look good. In some ways I was thinking this was gonna look bad or be cringy. That’s why technically these sprites are sketches, but I kind of went all out drawing them, that most of my whole break was drawing. That’s why the website is not the best, as I’m trying to
finish it all up before break is over. Depending on your screen, the bottom of the pages are probably glitching. I would have fixed it, but it would have resulted in me starting all the way from scratch, as it was because I put all text in negative to move up, but the code still thinks there is text down there still, so there is a huge empty space. I was able to kind of fix it, but how I did so will have the bottom text glitching out on the container depending on screen size. But I didn’t have time, and this website is technically just a huge sketch to see if I like this idea, which I do. Everything else style-wise was just based off what would look good for the sprites, as they are black and white.
And then finally, my future plans for this website. If not stated clearly enough, this website right now is just a
sketch to see if this idea is great, and it is :D. So because of that, my plan is to completely kind of redo it completely, but way, way better. Though I will continue to update this website right now with adding additional blogs, I won’t be fixing bugs or adding anything else. For the complete redo, there are many things I want to do,
such as completely redoing the sprites, making them not sketches, so better anatomy, unique poses based off the character, and in full color instead of black and white. I have plans to redo the whole website, adding all sorts of things such as adding color and design, maybe adding other things I see on other Neocities pages such as cliques, shrines, webrings, may add a comment system, and much, much more. Just hard to list, as I’m not exactly sure what I want to add, but for sure a lot, and making it very unique. I know that’s gonna be a lot, but it actually sounds like a very fun project, and it’s already been a blast so far. So I hope you continue to watch and stay on my journey of building this website!
